There was this one weekend where my husband and I got away for a much needed weekend away.
Only to have it ruined by a hockey tournament. And I get it, hockey tournaments happen. BUT we had clarified with the hotel that there were no hockey teams on our floor. There were. So at checkout time, I asked to speak to the Manager. I told him we were told no hockey teams were on our floor, he said that was impossible since every floor had hockey teams. I got angry, but I stayed calm and collected. Ish. He was offering free parking, a mere $20. I said “in your opinion you feel that that is enough for the experience we had”. He said yes. I turned to walk away. And then stopped. I remembered the secret to winning any NEGOTIATION. To go learn what it is, watch the video.

I had a string of crappy managers. One after another. Micromanagers whose expectations were always changing, who didn’t trust me and who made the working culture really difficult.
When I got laid off in 2009 I was determined to end the streak so I did the exercise that I describe in the YouTube video. Spoiler Alert: I had great manager after great manager once I figured out what kind of leader I wanted. It works wonders, go learn it now by CLICKING HERE to watch |
