I get it! 70-80% of jobs are found through some form of networking, so I understand why many career experts want you to focus on that. I’m one of those people.
But I don’t understand ignoring job boards all together! Why? Well 20% of jobs ARE found through job boards - I found 2 jobs that way! Plus, networking can often leave us feeling impatient, at best, or anxious, at worst. Job boards, while yes they’re often black holes, can leave us feeling like we’re actually accomplishing something. Which is why they DO have a place in an effective job search strategy and why I want you to include them. The only thing I want - is for you to use them efficiently and effectively. Which is why my YouTube training this week is all about my 4 tips on how to use job boards to actually find a great job. Head on over to watch it. Comment below with your outside the box job boards that you use to find great work! Links Mentioned in this training: Optimize Your Resume on YouTube.
