The weakness question is one of the most dreaded questions and one that causes some of the most confusion on how exactly to answer it.

I don’t like any of the advice out there.  Why?  Because most of it leaves interviewers either rolling their eyes or feeling like the answer was rushed and too surface level.

As an interviewer, I interviewed over 10k people.  And during that time, I noticed a trend.  That when a candidate answered the weakness question in a specific way (one that was authentic and vulnerable) that I and hiring managers got very
excited.  So I asked myself - why?

And what I noticed was this…the underdog story sells.  We all love a good underdog story, so I came up with a formula that you can apply to this question.  So that you too, can find an authentic and a little bit vulnerable way to answer this question so that hiring managers, recruiters and decision makers get really excited about you too.
