I thought it was too late for me.
That I had spent years in this career, I paid for my professional certification, I paid for my post-grad school. That if I chose something different that it would be a waste. So instead of doing something different, I stayed stuck. And hated my younger self for the decisions she made. And it wasn't my fault that I thought this (and if this is you, it isn't yours either). We are taught that we make a career choice. We get the job. Then we retire. We aren't taught about career changes, or wanting to change jobs or getting laid off from jobs. We aren't taught change. When I really leaned into the concept of change. Nothing became a waste anymore. All that experience, knowledge and education would actually be better for my 2nd career. It allowed me to get unstuck. To love my younger self and honestly to finally respect my current self. It wasn't too late for me. It's certainly not too late for you.
